Massage Therapy: Relaxation and Recovery

Ways to Complement Your Heatlh with Massage Therapy

Your muscles and tendons can get tight and sore from repeated use or from simply sitting, driving or hunching over your computer.

Soft tissue massage helps to break up any acute tightness and deeper tissue massage can break up chronic adhesions. Both allow your muscles and tendons to release tension and lactic acid.

Massage therapy compliments chiropractic care in that it helps to maintain spinal alignment, thereby improving nervous system functioning.

Whether you want to just relax or recover from exercise or a sports induced injury we have the right massage techniques for you.

Connective Tissue Therapy – Focuses on fascia (connective tissue) to target chronic pain and restricted mobility.

Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy – A form of soft-tissue massage that involves sustained pressure or slow-moving pressure over trigger-points in order to release “knots” (reoccurring tightness) in the area.

Sports Massage – A type of therapeutic bodywork that is used before, during, or after athletic activity. Often involves passive and active movements, stretching, and hydro-therapy (the use of hot or cold).

Swedish Massage – A relaxing and gentle massage therapy that uses a variety of techniques such as kneading, percussion, vibration, and friction to relieve tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation.

Massage Cupping – A technique using “cups” to create negative pressure, bringing blood flow to the area in order to increase circulation and decrease inflammation in the deeper tissue.
